I have always thought silicon was a metal.
There's lot's of info on silicon metal, even grading different alloys.
Never thought twice about it.... that is, until i began researching graphite / carbon.
Carbon = Organic.
Nature made.
Group 14 is the carbon family. The five members are
carbon, silicon, germanium, tin, and lead. https://www.learner.org/wp-content/interactive/periodic/groups8.html Haaaaaa !
I knew lead had to be in the mix somewhere.
Research papers i've read... i was always left with...
Nah... something's missing. METALLOIDS silicon, antimony, germainum, arsenic, born
A metalloid is an element that possesses a preponderance of properties in between, or that are a mixture of, those of metals and nonmetals, and which is therefore hard to classify as
either a metal or a nonmetal. Odd that industry says it can be both ? Maybe organic carbon mixes with metals and creates hybrid metalloids.
SILICON Is a nonmetal
It's a metalloid.
Belongs to Carbon Family.
https://www.hsimetal.com/is-silicon-a-metal-or-a-nonmetal/ Silica - silvery, black, crystaline.
Graphite - has same attributes.
This would match my theory of graphite comes from silica, silicon.
No resesrch paper hits these talking points.
Maybe because it associates the dioxide diamond relation.
Giggles.... my intuition was correct.
Done, Done.
