RE: VERY DISAPPOINTED.Yes, I'm the one that posted that there. I was bombarded by the news when they came out.
Do yourself a favor and subscribe to Stockwatch. (www.stockwatch.com) $5/mth for all kinds of good stuff. Email alerts, you name it. All the news from any Canadian & US company will be found there. I believe this was the main source of news dissemination in Canada before the advent of the internet (by phone and fax back then). Been around since the dinos.
I also use BMOInvestorline as my online broker and they provide free news email alerts if I set them up. I suspect most online brokerages offer a similar service. Very often I get my news from them first. I'm not sure where they get their news from but it sure as heck isn't from nickle & dime sites like this one.
Which brings me to the point that institutional investors who are the ones that really move the share price don't get their news from StockHouse and the likes. A company like GNG dishing out $1000/announcement will only help out some of the retail investors find the news. Most news filter down to boards like this one anyway. Bottom line, the share price will not change much.
For GNG specifically you can go to www.goldengoliath.com, click the email-us link at the bottom of the page and request to be added on their news email list. I've been receiving news directly from GNG for years albeit not as timely. I think there are laws that state the news must be sent to public venues before they can be sent directly.
Finally, I will personally post the news here as soon as I get them from now on if no one else does. I've been holding shares in this company since 2001 and I'm not going anywhere anytime soon.
I really don't think there's any value in the news pay sites.
