Our Canadian politicians should take the same message to heart too!
But will it happen?
Don't count on it. The political systems in many western democracies have become hamstrung by all of the checks and balances designed to protect us, but which instead end up harming our nations and our futures. This applies to areas other than energy independence too - just think of the mess some counties are in with regards to immigration policies.
And there are no signs that the myopia of our political leaders is getting any better. Quite the opposite in fact.
