RE:Starting to question where we are headedHere is your VERY FIRST POST in July, 2020 regarding Gatekeeper....
"
:Hello all,
I am long on GKPRF I have been buying for the past 4 months. I noticed the pull back last 2 weeks. I even discussed GKPRF with the CEO. I did some DD and found a pod cast by the name Keystone?? Their experts claimed that GKPRF has a history of lumpy earnings and they raised a concern if the positive earnings could continue. Keystone appears to be from Canada. I think they overlooked the CEO insider buys and that GKPRF is becoming a data storage company rather than a camera installer.. They refer to that as Platform as a service (PaaS). Has anyone any idea why the stock has pulled back other than what I mentioned and profit taking? Thanks" So mikeonmicrocap, this puts your first buys at under 0.20 CDN. That means you are near 300% return since initial investment in March of 2020, while having a very similar outlook of the company that you had last July.
Now, history is not obligated to repeat itself whatsoever, and Gatekeeper is certainly not obligated to repeat it's successes and failures of the past year either.
I personally bought more shares in Gatekeeper last month, because I felt the price was fair, and the growth prospects very good. I credit the mania that pushed the price up to near $1.40(was that the top?) to the ITSS excitement combined with the "credibility" that unforgettable "Private Placement at a Premium" brought to the company. In fact, I remember others here taking unkindly to my suggestion that I would wait until the 0.70's to be buying in again. My mother never did brag to her friends about my desire to please others or listen to fanfare.
So where are we now?
In my opinion, (and just as I would never take your word as gospel, you likely shouldn't take mine), Gatekeeper is going into regional expansion mode.
The product is the software/hardware camera combo. The product is being expanded into many new regions, states, and provinces across North America.
The product has just been added to OEM options lists, which helps do a lot of the heavy lifting for new sales to new customers.
Previous customers are beginning to purchase more product than they had previously, showing that they have faith in the product, and that it has value to them, and increasing value at that.
So in summary, Gatekeeper is in demand from new customers, has renewed and upgraded demand from existing customers, is having contracts for it's products being purchased in new regions, and is now also available straight off of the options list from bus manufacturers.
So ....GROWTH STORY vs VALUE TRAP?
You make the call, I know which one I am putting my money behind.
PS - I would argue that a "long time bull" should not be applied to somebody that has not been an owner for less than 3 years, but that's just me.
Cheers!
mikeonmicrocap wrote: Been a long time bull and think that the CEO is top notch. My initial; impression was that GKP was a growth story with fantastic finanacials. The financials are still great but has GKP become a " Value Trap" waiting to be bought out? I don't want to get into all the recent posts and comments about ITSS and transit sales. The past quarter's PR gave me pause for thought. Whenever a company leads into a quarterly PR taliking about the past 6 months I get an immediate sense that they want to obfuscate the present quarterly results. The next quarterly will be very telling. They need to overcome the present "lumpiness" and show that they are on a growth track. I welcome all opinions but please don't refute me by the usual shiboleth, " if you don't llke it just sell and leave".
