Market Maker

Red Cloud came on as market maker in June 2021. It has now been 30 months and they are still there. The SP the first 3 months averaged about 75 cents and then went down. There were 2 short one month periods where the SP jumped to 48 and 55 cents Otherwise the SP has been lower for 25 of 30 months.  all the way to 20 cents.. The majority of the shares traded by them were at lower levels, leaving me to believe it is now a positive experience for them. It also has been a positve experience for us, however maybe now the SP is held in neutral by the other side of the equation, ANON selling based on supply and demand and taking calculated profits. Revenue and profit will change all of that in due course, hopefully starting Q1! GLTA LONGS! Any thoughts! They are a balancer of the scales and am glad they are there for now.

I noticed some new (at least for me) videos on their website including one on MDC which is the future of the company. It would be great to see the conversion rates for these systems and or some measure of recurring revenues in the financials. https://www.gatekeeper-systems.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/GATEKEEPER_MDC_FINAL1.mp4

poster CIAO notes : '''It would be nice to see the conversion rates for these systems (MDC's) and some measure of recurring revencue in the financials''. YES it would ,but not a chance .Too much info .  HECK:  poster  DOMSEC has shown us ''via his effort'', almost 2  million dollars worth of public contracts, we have received  in the ...more

Doug has told us to read between the lines in the NR, but heck, there is no way I can tell how well subscription services are doing from the MDC. We know from the last CSI interview that it was only 1% and accelerating. My experience with reading tea leaves hasn't been great. Q4 was said to be "robust" and that was a $7.3M quarter (I had expected closer to 10 than 7). Q1 2024 was ...more

the NR said $3.5M for Q1, $5M for Q2 and $500k for Q3 from the $9M completed Septa contract. The NR did say expected so it could vary a bit from those numbers. But I think they will be close. DD was giving a heads up to investors with that NR. He didn't have to say anything since the contract had been previously announced.

Yes, I stand corrected. And it was great that Doug did break down by quarter the contribution from this SEPTA contract. He definitely wanted to give investors a heads up here.

It seems most, including myself, thought "ROBUST" meant more than the 7.3 mil number of Q4, Is there a chance that given it was a super year and year end, that when given the choice of billing out a contract or two on aug 29  or on sept 4 as an example, DD chose sept 4 as it starts the new year with a bang ! That could help turn Q1 large! Am sticking with over ...more

Yea:  So I have the Q's  estimated at --7.1 ---- 8.5----8.7----9.7 -- to get 34.0 mil on the year, and massive bottom line cash .  I'll have no complaints with that . Problem is with no P/R effort,we will see shares rise to .57-.58 this week and drop back  to .52 for the rest of the the current calander Q. --------I guess my thoughts are , if your'e not going to put ...more

you forgot to convert your estimates to C$. All kidding aside it will be interesting to see how the rev flows thru to the bottom line with the balance sheet clean. Last years numbers were Q1 $4.9M EPS $0.0 Q2 $9.7M EPS $0.02
Comment by Ciao on Jan 28, 2024 2:28pm
I'm surprised you have Q1 at $7.1M and Q2 at $8.5M given that the lumpiness of the SEPTA contract will add about $3.5 and $5 million respectively which when stripped out gives "base" rev of $3.6 and $3.5M respectively. Some of the lowest rev we have seen recently occurred in Q3 2022 which showed $4.4M in rev and I don't believe there were any large contract contributions. I ...more

I think there is a decent contract(s) on the way, soon (spring)  to help Q3 / Q4 although we might never know anyway. ---------I do  think we win the Septa  CCT & MICRO trans contract  for the 283 cutaway mini busses  (Dec 19/23 ) adding onto Q3/Q4-------On the lower than anticipated  Q1/Q2  numbers, I'm not so sure my definition of ''ROBUST' ...more

Base revenue is considered as only revenue coming from "base" recurring rates, not including any add-ons, customs charges, one-time invoices (i.e., contracts), etc.   In terms of GSI, base revenue mainly consists of annual maintenance and support (SEPTA, school buses, etc), and SaaS (hosted services, etc) contracts. Therefore, their quarterly base revenue from these sources as of ...more

No disagreement on the true meaning of base revenues. I was trying to normalize revenues without the influence of the large high impact SEPTA contracts.
Comment by domsec on Jan 28, 2024 3:47pm
I wanted to make it clear what base revenue is and what the breakdown is for GSI, partially to manage expectations. I keep seeing a lot of posters both here and ceo.ca expecting a $10M quarter like last quarter and possibly being disappointed based on their interpretation of Doug's recent comments and what I'm assuming is trying to make the same conclusion you did about normalizing ...more

IMHO, most of us got carried away with the word "robust" thinking than Q4 would be closer to $10 than $7. So perhaps we need to ground our expectations even with the contribution of SEPTA in Q1 and Q2. We'll know soon enough for Q1. Mr. Market isn't showing any exhuberence for Q1 and seems to be taking a wait and see approach, though ANON's trading could be distorting things. ...more

we haven't heard from cryptocurrency since before Christmas. ???? Looking back today his estimates for Q4 and YE were pretty close to the numbers that actually came out and his predictions for Q1 and Q2 were bold to say the least. The trading volume has been so low recently so definately no tell tale signs there. We wait on DD. May the force be with you!!!! lol TSXV:GSI Forum Post ...more
