Spoofing and Influencing PricesHi All,
Hope you are all enjoying a glorious Saturday summer day. We are presently sitting in the hot Spanish sun beside the pool, and life has never been better. Just wanted to throw a few "dumb" thoughts out there, some comments deserve no reaction, children are often best ignored.
The following article is a fine overview piece from SorenK who has a great perspective on both short term trading and long term precious metals markets. Anyone that has been on this board for a long period of time has read my thoughts on start of day and end of day pricing influencers. We all recognize there are pretty simple drivers behind a complex market. A company is valued by the market, the market consists of buyers or sellers. The price goes up or the price per share goes down. A company should build value, or reserves ultimately, measured in a unit per share or debt basis. Pretty flipping simple.
I have been around the venture exchange for over 20 years, and seen and read an awful lot. Made millions, lost millions, made a great deal back. Primary focus has been oil and gas and precious metals/exploration companies. Yawn, everyone has a story, and the bullboards and their anonymous creed often have an overly exaggerated positive pump, or a overly dark, seed plantingly, I'm your friend, but "look out" perspective driven by a short position, or a desire to buy lower driver.
I like penny stocks, but they are very dangerous and intoxicating. We only invest in the best management teams with the best and being proven up exploration plays. We often double and triple up as a team executes and communicates to the market properly. A missed hole or adjustment in plan is not the end of the world, but the management better communicate plans effectively and properly. Uncertainty breeds risk.
This brings us back to a market. Management and the team can only do so much. They can't influence the share price on a daily basis, but the can sure support it. Listen to GSVs conference call on 16-08. There guys are top notch IMO. They know the Carlin and the geology extremely well. These guys are guides on elephant hunts.
The market makes the price. The market is based on depth and macro events. GSV has had its share price driven down many, many times, and likely had the price lifted as well. Most of our buys have been at a top, only to see the price slide immediately after much to my frustration. We have been spoofed and knocked around like sardines smashed by whales. All the bigger players are desparetly seeking ways to hit their bonuses and maximize earnings in a tighter and tighter pool. A company like GSV, especially after such blockbuster results is in incredible demand. The whales are using algos and advanced trading techniques to get shares for as cheap as possible in all the best exploration and mid tier companies. The larger producers are harder to move, but it does happen, and after all, the market is the market. Selling $1,500,000,000 or $10,000,000,000 worth of paper gold contracts at really stupid times of the day just makes no sense at all. But it is happening, and the players are playing, but the market is lapping it up, because the macro environment driving gold is massive.
Bottom line is the Bullion Corridor fault system is a beautiful piece of real estate in Nevada. The Dark Star Corridor and Fault system is showing how expansive it is, and Pinion and Dark Star are going to fast track as quickly as possible towards a massive increase in resource estimates and feasabilties. GSV also has the water rights, surface rights, mineral rights. This sounds simple, but don't fool yourself, this are very important pieces that the retail market often glosses over. Water in Nevada is incredibly important.
In the meantime, look out for the spoofs from the whales, it happens everywhere, and especially in our GSV.
Incredibly thrilled with GOld Standard, this land package is a once in a lifetime event in my simple, somewhat experienced opinion.
