Northern Sun Mining Corp. is preparing to begin construction on a new Tailings Storage Facility and Effluent Discharge Relocation at the Redstone Mill. A public information session is being held to provide a platform to engage the public, Aboriginal communities, and other affected stakeholders regarding these projects.
Redstone Mill is located within the municipal boundaries, approximately 30 km east of the City of Timmins, in Eldorado Township.
The new Tailings Storage Facility will have a footprint of 746,821m2 and will store approximately 6 million tonnes of tailings.
The Effluent Discharge Relocation project will consist of a pump and piping system to carry the effluent directly to the Redstone River.
