Conspiracy Theory

I believe the consensus is there is manipulation of the stock. Why GWY, there are loads of miners that could be manipulation targets but they are not? I doubt it is illegal the way it is unfolding, but who could it be? In my opinion we can rule out GWY management, too much of a conflict of interest. Batista? I doubt it, he has bigger fish to fry and would not want to be caught out on such a practice. One of the major investors, probably not, it would be too obvious to the others.

Who then would undertake manipulation?  Whoever it is has specifically targetted GWY. They know the terrain, they know the potential and probably have been involved in mining the area. For whoever it is, it is low risk and great upside potential. They are probably people with deep pockets having already made money already in the area and are operating through proxies.

Who could it possibly be? This is not another of our pool folks, just food for thought while we wait for a resolution to this scenario.

CBJ has been under serious pressure. I posted once that maybe this is because CBJ  may put the move on GWY to own all the heart of Vetas and to stick it to Batista at the same time. The financing that would entail would initially put pressure on CBJ stock. Maybe it's Beatty?

What if the whole scenario is much simplier. What if one of bigger inestors simply needed cash and start selling his positions in juniors, well to bad that you or me can't afford to buy 4  mill, of shares in one day.  Probably we would not let it go below 1.20 , not we do not like it cheap but we think it would be below the price fro current marked conditions. So without a good buyer ...more

Maglicc - I think you hit the nail on the head.  Observe that Stonecap and Dundee starting selling large positions over the past 10 days or so - they upset the delicate balance in this stock.   Mutual fund redemptions are causing forced selling.  This story has been the same across the whole junior sector.  John Embry's comments on this from earlier in the week: “Gold ...more

I think that many comments here are just either to push price up or down depending on someone wish or interest. Your observation is very true and that is kind of insight what we are missing very often obsessed with daily SP movements and agendas. Although I had remain positive feeling about GWY (especialy Cal , not so much with Vetas) I must admit that current junior price movement worries me to ...more

Maglicc, with millions of shares trading, do think anyone in their right mind  believes they can influence the stock price on a message board? If  they think they can then they are delusional and wasting their time. Have a great weekend all..............

Honestly, when millions are treaded NOT but when few hundreeds of shares are traded YES. Not significantly but enough to make them happy. As we all know the big price movements are caused by big sellers and buyers, but look at the posts here, we blame everything and everyone for 'manipulations' or we blindly write only positive facts about GWY. I would like to see more informative ...more

The entire global interest rate structure is manipulated via QE (money printing by CB's to buy their govt's debt). FX markets are overtly manipulated by Central banks via interventions. The burden of proof is not upon those that say mkts are manipulated. The burden of proof is on those that say a particular mkt is NOT !!!
Comment by maglicc on Apr 27, 2012 6:12pm
mostly true, but I would say I am a fan of RumnCokez, he makes this post a fun place more interesting to read.  The oposite camp has been one sided as well disregarding risks inolved with juniors, company management, Columbia or constantly delayed reports by GWY.  Beside ,his calls on SP (.50-1) are still much closer then many 'serious' comments posted here(multidolar values ...more

Don't get personnal. Beside I thought you are RumNCokez as I found this in your post: (LOL) Lets stick to the facts, overdue Cali report, no results from Cali for 6 months, no results from Vetas for almost 6 weeks, and no indication whatsoever of any buyout from the company = falling knife.

"Lets stick to the facts, overdue Cali report, no results from Cali for 6 months, no results from Vetas for almost 6 weeks, and no indication whatsoever of any buyout from the company = falling knife." Nope, that wasn't me mate........nothing personal. My point is that the two largest mkts in the world, interest rate (bonds) and FX are overtly manipulated. It's not a secret. Then ...more
