While everyone eyes BTC it is the Ethereum Blockchain that HIVE (and we) are betting on as this blockchain becomes the backbone for Internet 3.0 through the development of dapps. Sounds like Vitalik Buterin and Co are close to launching Ethereum 2.0 Serenity which will switch Ethereum from proof of work (P.O.W) mining that requires massive hash rate and power to a proof of stake (P.O.S) that is not CPU/GPU intensive nor power hungry - essentially a green solution. HIVE is well positioned with its substantial hoard of ETH to become a major validator of new ETH blocks and transactions. Why? Because ETH has to be deposited to qualify as a validator and the more deposited the greater the share of blocks HIVE will be assigned to do P.O.S activity on. So, HIVE (we) will be in a position to get a large % of the 100,000ETH available each year. Also, as HIVE will not need the substantial hash power to mine ETH any longer, it can turn to other mining like BTC or other crypto instead. Its a win-win if HIVE can deliver properly.
