Colima, I expect the Canadian courts to follow the law - the rule of law should override politics, etc. The rule of law does not allow the Canadian courts to delve into the merits of who is right or wrong - they will not hold a trial on the merits of Stans claims against the Kyrgs. The dispute in Canada over the Russian court decision will be whether the decision on jurisdiction is not "clearly erroneous" or some similar standard that recognizes the right of the court to make a good faith decision regardless of whether the Canadian court would have made the same one (not exactly sure what they will apply). If the Russian court finds for Stans it will be exceptionally difficult for the Kyrgs to do anything about the award. Likewise, if the award is overturned by the Russian court, it would be very difficult for Stans to gain enforcement in Canada.
