Unga

Why are they waiting until mid summer to drill, the weather is not bad now at Unga , like last summer it rained almost  everyday it seemed.

Maybe that is when they were able to secure a drill rig for an extended time. Also, I think Unga experiences unique weather patterns. (though SE Alaska has a lot more rain than Unga) It is reported that Unga still has relatively mild weather in July. It could be rainy for an extended time or it can be dry for and extended time. Rain should not delay drilling.  Drill crews usually have drill sheds that cover most of the drill and workers except the mast and central drill gear.  The engine keeps things warm and every drilling company is used to drilling in winter.  Weather is not a concern here.  Getting a drill and crew in to start is the only timeline.
