RE: RE Gordex

RE: RE Gordexgolgman: Gordex left their old property in a hell of a mess. It is only now just beginning to fade back into the landscape. A lot of the area was clear cut with skidder ruts and removal of overburden, leaving only rock where forest once was. The government started back in the McKenna days to put a road approximately 4 km into the woods up along the coast. Roly MacIntyre was the minister/dude in charge at the time. Supposed to be part of the new Fundy Trail system to link up with the Black River end. Surely you don't believe that open pit trenching is environmentally friendly. If I remember correctly their (Gordex) heap leach pad berm/tailings pond broke during a rainstorm and emptied its contents into one of the best lobster areas on the coast. People in that area were actually trucking away tailings for driveway gravel. Not a smart idea. There was silica dust blowing everywhere. There are several good fishing lakes and streams in the area. It is also great moosehunting. Lots of bogs. Do I sound like a TREE HUGGER? You better believe it! Will I have something to say about ripping the area wide open again using some archaic heap leach process only to see them walk off and leave another mess in their wake? You better believe it! Am I well known to the NB Department of Environment, Department of Natural Resources, Environment Canada and the Department of Fisheries and Oceans? You better believe it! Am I against development? Not really! AS long as they follow the rules and protect the streams and lakes. If not I will see to it that they spend more time in front of a judge than they do in the field. I would advise Geodex or whoever tries to develop this area to get familiar with EMR Microwave in Fredericton. They have a technology to remove the gold without chemicals. They also have a test plant in Fredericton for demonstration purposes. Am I a shareholder in EMR? Yes. Do I believe in their technology? Yes. GREEN TECHNOLOGY. The future of mining. The rumor was that when Gordex closed they did so only because they didn't have the money to develop a hard rock mine. The actual payload was some 500 feet down. Geodex? Gordex? Is it possible that Geodex is a reincarnation of Gordex? I, like everyone else would love to see the area developed. The gold is definitely there. I myself have a few core samples picked up from the old site. However, I am sick and tired of junior mining companies coming in and ripping up the countryside only to leave after they have filled their pockets with shareholders money and leave us the taxpayers holding the bag for cleanup after they declare bankruptsy or disappear into the Bay of Fundy fog under cover of darkness! Geodex makes their drilling/exploration project at Cape Spencer sound like some big deal but the fact is the dollars they claim they will spend amount to peanuts. Will I invest in Geodex? I'll let you know after I take a look at the operation and see how they are treating the environment down there. Regards GRIFF
