The open house was attended by potential individual investors and brokers from
Cannacord, Yorkton, Nesbitt,Reasearch Capital....and a few other houses.
Mats Gerschman started off the meeting describing Icrons vision for the next 3 years ,explaining the 6 different markets they are concentrating on WORLD WIDE, setting up new relationships and new distributors.
According to a study done by the Gardener Group ' Icron has only scratched the surface in extending USB.'
David Smith,( Vice President Sales and Marketing) then took over the meeting and explained what the technology does and the different applications it can be
used for. This really opened my eyes as to how much potential this technology has.An explanation about how the Microsoft daycare was setup using the Icron technology seem to raise a few eyebrows in the crowd. (practical application)
The 2 most impressive things about the meeting are the 2 new products Icron is worrying on.
1) An OEM board 2.5 inches square (start shipping in November)
2) ASIC CHIP (application specific integrated chip) only 1 square inch in size.
this could easily be put on motherboards (sometime in 2001).
We then got a demo of how the product works ( this worked very well)
When we were getting a tour of the offices there were about 10 -15 large boxes with product ready to ship out.(love to see this)
Icron has sent their technology to companies such as Intel,General Electric,Mac,and probably any other large companies you can think of. These companies are testing Icron"s technology to see how best it will suit them.
