Where are you getting your information from? I’m a nobody investor and trade with cibc edge. I’ve talked with them and it’s very possible to short stocks as a retail investor. They said I would need to fill out additional paperwork and go through another credit check but said after that I would be given a max amount I could short. I would need to call each short in rather then use my app. (However I could cover by using the app by simply purchasing the stock.) He also said not every company is able to be shorted. I believe cibc has to personally carry extra of the stock to be able to loan it out.
Call your broker, it’s possible.

Oh I should mention...before you try and argue and make yourself look even more dumb...try a simple google search....that $hit can do wonders... It will verify you are completely incorrect. Guessing you won’t respond because of being made to look foolish but I hope you do...
