RE:Trading on the U.S. OTC"So, after all the hoopla about the huge demand from Americans, all we get after a couple of weeks is fewer than 1,000 shares in a single trade?"
I did share that information with those that desired to hear the truth, Rare as it may be on Stockhouse, there still are are a few of us that do that. We are dying breed though on this site and in time the last of us wll be gone and then Stockhouse can officially be certified as 100% pure BS with absolutely no truth fillers whatsoever. :>)
RE:Explain to me Joe - how ....
Wangy , a few notes on the OTC just to clear up a little confusion that I am seeing on this board
- The OTC is not an exchange. It is a dealer network and therefore has much lower standards than an exchange. All any Venture company in good standing has to do is apply and pay the fees in order to have a listing on it.
- An OTC listing does not create any meaningful volume increase for the average Venture company. I will give you an example. On the Venture there is a company called Pyrogenisis (PYR) On Wed Aug 31 they traded 621,471 shares but on their OTC counterpart (PYRNF) they only traded 1,100 shares.
With that said you are probably now wondering why any Venture company would bother obtaining a US OTC listing. Well SS pretty much hit that nail on the head. The only real motivation for a Venture listed company to create a US OTC trading entity is to open the doors to making stock offerings in the US.
