RE:RE:RE:Big problem with cobalt free battery

[Dig] Which model is okay sitting for hours with the air conditioner running in city traffic on a hot summer day...

That is not a problem for existing vehicles.but do you know of any EV that can do this?

Actually EV's excel at this. Stop & Go traffic is their best MPG advantage, and even better is when you are stopped for hours.  Dog mode in a Tesla lasts for days (2-3% per hour).  This is also a non-issue for 99% of people 99% of the time (e.g. those comuting to work under 50 miles and charging at home). The only issue is long trips over ~200 miles a day that require L2 destination charging; and this is only a problem as recharging now takes 45 minutes to an hour.

I'm also not too worried about the Grid supporting all these EV's as this is self regulating.  If the grid can't keep up, people stop buying EV's until the grid can.  In fact, EV's can be a HUGE life-saver to the grid by acting as a big UPS  (only certain EV's do this now though as I understand... I think Tesla's do).

[Dig] Does your old apartment building with its dated electrical wiring provide you with rechargers for everyone or do your window air conditioners already push it to the limit?

This falls into the categagory of... if your old apt doesn't have the ability to support a 50Amp ciruit for all EV drivers.... don't buy an EV or move.  Simple.  This transition is going to take 30 years. This argument is akin to saying that a porche can't drive my whole family, whatever will I do. Note,  having Chargers will be a huge plus for renters and house sales, so again... self regulating. They will have charges just as they have microwaves.

However, overall Dig, I agree. There are always things that need to be solved.  CATL has a new battery coming out next year (with Cobalt I think) that has a 620 mile range (~7 to 8 hours of drive time), and charges in 15 minutes.   Lucid has 520 miles range, and Tesla model S has 405.
