Big problem with cobalt free battery

The range is short, a 250 miles battery sucks and people will be peed having to charge every week. Jmho

Tesla's LFP batteries, which is in 50% of new Tesla's, has a range of 267 (only 12 miles less than 2170's).  This puts LFP better than the Audi Q4- etron(238), Porsche Taycan (227), Cheverolet Bolt (259); and about even with the Vokswagen ID.4 (270).  Tesla's cobalt free 4860 battery on the other hand has a range for Standard versions of 279, and will be ~330+ for the ...more

"will be peed having to charge every week" No, that  is simply not how EV's work. One doesn't go and charge every week, you go home everyday, and are always topped-off in the morning. No, that certainly is not the issue. 99% of  folks only need 40 miles a day, and charge at home of course. The issue is on those occassional long trips. This is exacerbated due to ...more

Allwill not be rosy with EVs. Which model one can make it across Minnesota or Northern Ontario on a winter day at minus 30 degrees with the heater on? Which model is okay sitting for hours with the air conditioner running in city traffic on a hot summer day or during a hot summer road trip.  That is not a problem for existing vehicles.but do you know of any EV that can do this? Actually EV's excel at this. Stop & Go traffic is their best MPG advantage, and even better is when you are stopped for hours.  Dog mode in a Tesla lasts for days ...more
