RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:AREI often bring this up on the junior boards as many investors think that shorts are all speculators betting on the price to go down and they make their money on that. In fact, on these microcaps, most of the shorters are hedgers, not haters. They are locking down profits on cheap paper in most of these cases. The bad news is that when they cover, it doesn't affect the stock price because they cover with treasury shares.
All that said, this is a speculative play. Anyone buying in right now are making a simple bet: that those cores are robustly mineralized. The sellers can easily be buyers who got in at .09-.10. To sell now, make a .25-.30 profit and there is nothing wrong with that. They have their plan and they stick to it because they are making a sure profit. Every investor has different goals.
