Why not a device trial

Here's the answer:
The trial will cost about the same and take about the same amount of time as if it were a device trial. KNE chose to do it as a drug trial because this opens up a lot more indications and it is much more attractive to pharmas, while only marginally increasing the cost and duration of the trial.
