Last week's PR regarding completion of this round of enzyme testing didn't seem all that exciting (IMO):

"The work involved the optimization of process conditions for the use of the latest cellulase enzyme preparation from Novozymes, Cellic CTec 3, with Lignol's substrate, using Lignol's 2,500-litre fermenters. Performance improvements of up to 35 per cent were observed, as compared with previously best achieved results."

But over the last year editorials in the WSJ and Forbes suggest that a breakthrough in price point would still be huge news regardless of the November election resut:

There's a lignin angle to this story too, Novozymes signed an ethanol deal with Shengquen in July, another foundry resin manufacturer: https://green.autoblog.com/2012/06/21/novozymes-shengquan-commercializing-cellulosic-ethanol/ Meanwhile Lignol's foundry resin is being tested by an unidentified client of HA international in the US: https://www.canadianmanufacturing.com/fabrication ...more

Hi guys. Thanks for sharing those good articles M101. I'm not a scientist or in the know and it would be hard for me (or a number of us) to comment on where we are exactly in terms of competing with non-renewables with the additional 35% in improvements. That being said, I like to think that the best possible indication that this is actually something which is of a high potential magnitude is ...more
