The road in 2nd photo provides a superb scale
in which one can guage the large boulders.
Yes... very large boulders.

My hunch is...
This boulder zone is... located closer to ocean.
Very flat.
Sediment ocean floor - comes inland.
Intense siesmic activity, quakes,  shatters the sediments creating 
zillions of broken boulder rocks. Many of the boulders are with sharp
angles, shards suggesting - very local.

Other closeup images, one can see the ground has broken rocks with in,
again... hints and clues the boulders are local.

Versus, inland ranges,
sediment sheets uplifted into ranges, but, created
patchy - mineral ore bodies.

Own opinion. 

Picture a single lane dirt road with a jeep.
Now gugage the size of these boulders.
Interesting, eh ?
