Dona Lake/banded iron formations
I've been in MEK for a while due to its diverse portfolio and perceived good management. The Dona Lake project really has my attention and lead me to increase my position. This type of "banded iron formation" is what made up the former Homestake Mine in South Dakota and is currently being pursued by MMV in a consolidated district near the former Homestake Mine. At Homestake, the larger deposits (multiple deposits mined for over 100 years) were usually found at depts of 2000 ft. or deeper (mining down to almost 7000 ft. deep). I think MEK is taking the right approach in both drilling down from the 455 base, and, testing the boundaries of the project. Yes, it's speculative, but, at least we know there's gold there to begin with.
