Probably the brokers office has a policy that having a big order to buy.... they want to stabalize the buying price through small orders ..... and on the selling side they try to do the same without causing a selloff.... They have all kinds of games... remember they don't pay brokerage fees if they are working for the house.... Years ago, they had a procedure called "washing", where they would selll a block of share back and forth to try to make market activity.
I am sure broker/saleman have many different gamrs they play on the unsuspecting public..... it's all about making money for the brokerage houses.
