The Long Awaited Dividends

Many promises by this management team over the past decade or so, but none have been instituted.
There is a way that regular dividends can be instituted within 18 months .

As at February 2019 we have been paying down our gold streamlining liability by 241 ounces per month for a period of 3 years ending February 2022.

At current prices, the annual streaming costs are about 2900 ounces per year, sufficient to pay a 2 cent CAD per share.

Very few gold stocks pay dividends.
Those that do tend to have a dividend yield of less than 1%, with the range being 1.5. % to  2% .

Assuming a  2% yield  on a 2 cent annual dividend equates to a share price of $1 cad per share.

Can we do this ?
Certainly, if Peranghi turns out consistent with the first closely drilled and mined area

Been there and done that. Its to get the cheap paper out. A one time shot whose effect on the share price is transient that rarely does much for the price trajectory. However, a regular dividend returns cash directly to shareholders year after year and always elevates the share price to peer yield levels.

I don't like the fact that MMY is keeping so much cash$. This will tempt Baldock&Co to do some stupid and disastrous deals. Our shareprice is so undervalued, what's better use of the cash than to buy our own shares.  As for boost in shareprice due to dividend, that's only true if the dividend is REGULAR. At this stage of MMY development, she is not ready yet. Maybe there is ...more
