Ball-park estimatesBest that I can estimate, the HZ and RM zone is about 500 m by 100 m by 25 m deep or roughly 1.1 million cu m of ore.
There is about 2.5 tons per cu m, so the tonnage would be about 2.7 million tons defined so far.
Allow 30 % dilution for non-economic ore, and there exists about 2 million tons of gold ore in this zone.
This zone remains open in all directions, so it will continue to grow in size.
What grade to use ?
That depends on the cut-off.
Say 0.5 gms for an open pit which would suggest about 300,000 oz so far.
Obviously, with the old Hemlo mill being set up alongside, they would probably high grade the pit first from the existing adit.
The first bulk sample produced 0.5 oz per ton.
In other words, a relatively small amount of ore ( say just 75,000 tons ) could quickly be removed to produce over 30,000 oz of gold at a pretty cheap price.
This is the type of scenario they are referring to.
