RE:RE:FYI, Excellent news I served and i now I work in  the defence industry and i know that even though lobbying is not allowed at all, companies can and do retain veterans as subject matter experts, not just with their products, but as liaison that has creds and can talk the talk and walk the walk. 
Not to say that any undue influence could be leveraged in any kind of old boys net, but knowledge of and familiarity with the procurement process is definitely a plus.
