Thoughts on consumer demand?

Nexe keeps mentioning that there are 60 billion pods produced annually, as if to infer that there is lots of demand. I know they are about $1 a pod, and the marketting looks good to me with some unique products that I could see busy office people appreciating.

But have we hear any actual market analysis? Has anyone given this in depth thought and be willing to share? For instance, how marketable is their product? how successful do you think it will be?

$1/pod is double the price of premium brands so I doubt they can steal any market share.      https://www.keurig.ca/beverages/recyclability/c/recyclable-k-cup-pods
