NEXE Webinar

Well, it was an interesting one.
  • they plan to run two shifts at windsor location, probbaly will start with 20  employees. they had trouble finding qualified staff on West Coast, they are happy with the resources in Windsor
  • no plans to produce masks in the near future
  • no real plans to work on new applications / products / verticals for now. Focus on coffee only
  • they expect to have BPI / SQFL certifications at both locations
  • they found a fix for new Keurig (personally had no idea there were having problems)
  • the plan to enter and stay in the coffee retail market with XOMA line (on the shelves). they claim it  is premium coffee, will be on the higher end cost wise. their price has to be in line with the other brands, not too upset anyone
  • they plan to be in control of the entire production process, from alpha to omega. however they mentioned that they import some materials, so supply chain issues may ocur
  • pod cost is about 15-20% higher only than regular pods (raising eyebrows???)
  • no interest in pursuing big name roasters
  • focus on artisanal roasters
  • my impression is that most serious prospects are US based
  • it'll be a slow process until they are ready to produce / scale / execute
  • at least two quarters until we'll see sales numbers Q2 / Q3. They will hire sales staff in the next phase
  • mention of delays due to pandemic
  • there was a person in the audience that wanted to apply for a job @ windsor location lol - Good luck whoever you are!
My conclusion: it will be a very slow process. There is no euphoria here, s/p will react one way or the other. If this would have been a great pr, s/p should have jumped by now. Let's wait until next week, if no movement by Tuesday, s/p will be stuck in the range for a while. The way I see it $$$ is locked, not traction / gain for the next quarter.
