Great Bend

Megacopper, the area of Great Bend seems to be on a different horizon than Appleton and Keppenkeck. I'm looking at a magnetic map of Newfoundland and it shows the difference in the magnetic features. I'll look at it closer to make sure. Also the magnetic map shows Moosehead on a different horizon.

Yes you could be right. I was talking again to the Rock Doctor and he thinks you can find this gold in different rock types as long as there are fractures or faults to allow the fluid with the gold to come up through to allow the gold to precipitate out. I asked him again why SIC seems to have similar grade gold to NFG but it is on a different trend and looks to be different host rocks. ...more

Megacopper, your interpretation (or the Rock Doctor) of the ultramafic rocks is bang right on. So not only the Appleton Fault is auriferous, but also the nearby parallel faults, probably including the Dog Bay Line and the Grub Line.  I think the Dog Bay Line continues down the western edge of NFG's property and not west of Mt. The Rock Doctor hasn't been in the game for a long time (30 plus years) but he's got a lot of knowledge up there in that head of his. We don't pretend to have all the answers because nobody does. Mother Nature doesn't follow a rule book. Geologists who know the region are still learning about ...more

Mega looks like they got my memo that TCH has antium under it. Wish someone would by that anitmony mine from the Chinese and  get to the bottom of it. Agree SIC has the only other drill results out there worth mentioning but they are so slow with drill results it is going to be a long time until they  solve that mystrey. I think it has been the granite intrusions accepted at Mount ...more

Bang on Megacopper ....everyone remembers Voiseys bay and the ultimate way the majors were played tor an all out bidding war. All these companies staked in the area saying they had the next one and all came out dry.If you got the time  sign up and listen to Nicole Ashead(?) and her talk about how 30 companies have staked in this area in the last 2 years. https://bit.ly/2QwKVtL Just ...more

Comparing Voisey's Bay to Central Nfld is something like comparing apples and oranges.  Voisey's was a single massive nickel find (including the Ovoid, Eastern and Western deeps); there were no other significant intersections of nickel in the area (except for small intersections by NDT and Donner). Marathon is gearing up to start mining ( 4 million ounces and counting) at Valentine ...more
