Buyout on the table.......?

Luke Burgess speculates that the reason everything has gone quiet is a deal in in the works. He has a good nose for these situations, let's see if he's right.....!

Nonsense. Drilling has barely scratched the surface here. 20%
Comment by Spikearoo1 on Jun 08, 2021 4:42pm
why would anyone agree to a buy out this early in the game...maybe a buy in where another big investor or producer provides a massive lump sum for shares to add to the treasury to double the drill program to 400,000 meters...I can't see a buyout.  I sure wouldn't vote for it.
Comment by Global1966 on Jun 08, 2021 5:24pm
Sure. I suppose they could sell the Keats area for $6 billion and continue with the other claims. We could also speculate and say that the drilling has not produced any grades that are worthwhile reporting. That's the beauty of speculation

Check out this buyout in 1996 ( I owned a few shares at the time and sold early) : https://www.wsj.com/articles/SB84021309867994000 https://www.nytimes.com/1996/08/30/business/for-canada-s-brash-young-mining-companies-that-pot-gold-may-depend-acquisitions.html 1996   In 1996, Barrick expanded its South American presence, acquiring Arequipa Resources Ltd., which had exploration ...more

Yes its too early. Also, correct me if I'm wrong but NFG has higher grades and most likely far more ounces in the ground if it keeps up with the succesful holes. Finally,we have a better jurisdiction and smarter management holding all the cards!

Well a major can make an offer but these guys aren't selling. They know what they got and it's worth multiples from current levels. These guys are building an empire. New Found Gold will become a major producer. I would be shocked if they sell. There could be an offer made but they ain't selling.

Just who is Luke burgess?
Comment by GoldCasino on Jun 08, 2021 6:56pm
If you owned this property knowing only what the public knows now, would you sell? I think not unless, of course, the offer was crazy astronomical. Thought $50 was silly talk but now it is looking a bit on the low side.

Investment spruiker. He was spruiker NFG when it was under $4. The OutsiderClub newsletter is where you find him
Comment by suregold on Jun 08, 2021 8:12pm
Thanks, I am not a subscriber. I agree with him. Every major will look at this, especially Kirkland.
Comment by likeike on Jun 08, 2021 8:53pm
Suregold you have exposed yourself as knowing absolutely nothing. Kirkland lake would never show interest in this property. Take a look what KL walked away with at was it Goliath or Eskay Creek They had to only cough up a million bucks this year to get their share of  what looks like a multi milllion oz find and they walked because they would have to deal with ES and QH. Walk away from ...more

I agree with ike that Kirkland Lake will never buy New Found Gold. Sometimes egos get in the way of common sense. For the full story you can follow the link below. Doesn't hurt my feelings any that KL doesn't want to deal with Quinton Hennigh and Eric Sprott. These guys are doing alright on their own and that's putting it mildly. Quite to the contrary, KL is by far the most likely company to buy NFG.I have 40 years of geo experience with barrick, Homestake and others to back it up. First off, they just hired a KL insider to fill a Board seat. And most importantly, KL, Newmont, and Barrick dont give a damn about the personalities involved, rather just how much money that they will make on the operation. They can fire anyone ...more

Also, intersting is that KL just got dropped from the 10 largest Gold Mining companies in world down now to # 13. Large corporate types usually have big egos. They will want to regain that positon as quickly as possible. All the NFG guys have done a deal with them before on an all stock transaction and They will be probably looking for same kind of deal again to delay taxation as long as possible. ...more

My view: 1) Spend the next 2-3 years drilling the heck out of all promising areas along the two faults via equity raises at (hopefully) ever-increasing share prices. 2) Put those assay results on display and start the bidding on the entirety of Queensway, with the large gold producers either bidding on the whole thing individually or a combined bid involving two or more large producers (eg. one ...more

Personalities aside no one is buying NFG so stop pounding this idea you used car salesman that think everything has a price. It will not work here so go sell some used cars. NFG turned down 50 mill in finiancing to list last August. The players that hold probably more than 75% of the float now have no interest in selling until they think a true value is reached and that will take at least 2 ...more

I am not as well versed about this stock as the rest of you.  But from what I have read or watched,   these are the home town boys making this discovery.   they are not selling out to strangers any time soon.   New Foudlanders are a tight bunch.   This is their gold.
Comment by megacopper on Jun 09, 2021 3:25pm
Not Newfoundland's gold anymore. The shareholders of New Found Gold own it now. Mr. Sprott owns about 20%, Collin Kettell and Palisades own about 30%, Quinton Hennigh and Novo own about 10%, Mr. McEwen owns about 7% and the rest of us peasants own the remaining 33%. And I don't think they guys who own the most of New Found Gold have any plans on selling this thing to anybody ...more

Mega you are 100% right. Many think the so called majors are the US government and able to print money. They are not. No major or even two can afford NFG at a premium. NFG will be closely held with ample resources built around Keats and nearby zones. Folks who have experience building initial mines are brought in. Operations will then fund the decade long exploratory drilling on the massive ...more

I agree 100%. There could be an offer made but there won't be a buyout. End of story.
Comment by BlindBoy on Jun 09, 2021 7:13pm
"This is a once in a lifetime find and no one knows this better than the hand" Yeah, I find it remarkably short sighted that so many traders look for a "takeover offer by a "Major" " as being the be-all and end-all objective for a junior mining company which makes a strike.  If Barrick had decided to accept being taking over by a major, following Barrick's ...more

Awesome post. You have to think big and the guys involved with this very valuable and very rare gold discovery all think big. They want to build the next Barrick and they certainly have the right property to do just that at the rate they are finding gold at Queensway.

Brilliant post. And with coming inflation and a rising gold price, the next 2 years will tell the story
