Drill update

I was out for a visit to check out the location of the drills and get a feel for the activity happening out there. Much the same as my last visit about a month ago with all kinds of activity.

Keats Zone 4 drills
Golden Joint 2 drills
Lotto Zone 1 drill
Zone 36. 1 drill
JBP Fault 1 drill
There was one mobile type drill (smaller than the others) parked not drilling near the Golden Valley sign. Perhaps that is the tenth drill???

So there wasn't much change although there is lots of activity. The drills have been moved a little (100 feet to 200 feet) on all the zones with the exception of the Golden Joint. Drills have not moved much at all on this zone.

The Lotto drill continues to move away to the southeast away from the Appleton Fault. The farthest away from the Appleton Fault that I have seen it in all of my visits.

Meanwhile on the other side of the Appleton fault there is one drill which I'm assuming was at Zone 36 and appeared to be drilling in a direction parallel to the fault. I think in a straight line this zone is not far from the Sunday Zone that hit significant gold at the Appleton Fault itself last winter.

Two drills on the Keats Zone are well to the south while the other two are more to the Center of the Keats Zone. Looks like they are gearing up to expand the Keats Zone father south because the mulcher is on site at the far southern end and there was a lot of activity at the far southern end of the Keats with young geologists out in the woods between the TCH and the southern end of the Keats. Getting closer and closer to the highway ike so perhaps the sweet spot could be beneath the highway yet. Lol

At the JPB Fault we noticed the guys were doing some downhole geophysics near pocket pond. Meanwhile the drill has been moved closer to the TCH with several new drill pads set up for drilling next to the pond. Lots of blueberry pickers north of all the drilling. Lots of berries this year.

And we heard there is a 20 man camp down near Caribou Lake prospecting which is east of Eastern Pond. I think there is a hunting lodge at Caribou Lake so perhaps that is the reason they are staying there because that is several miles east of the prospective Appleton and JPB Faults. Actually it isn't far from the new Muskrat Falls power line that runs between Caribou Lake and Dead Wolf pond.

Anyways there you have it, the latest and greatest from NFG's Queensway project. A bit of an update for my fellow NFG shareholders while we wait for assay results.

Thanks for the update Megacopper. How many quart baskets of blueberries have you picked??
Comment by megacopper on Aug 29, 2021 7:56pm
I haven't picked any blueberries in years but I always take note of the berries because if you get a real good crop of berries it usually means we are in for a hard winter. At least that is what the old timers say. Lol

The best blueberries are in sandy soil. When you're picking blurberries, always look for bear poop. You may find a bear competing for your berries.
Comment by megacopper on Aug 30, 2021 9:01am
Oh yes I've met bears out in the woods before. They love blueberries and dogberries. But they won't bother you as long as you give them space but they can make a mess of your camp if they break in for a bite to eat. They never go out through the same hole they come in through. Lol

Yes, all of us who enjoy the great outdoors have encountered bears. They love blueberries and can be unpredictable. And of course blueberries are such a delicious treat what or who would not like them? When I accompany my spouse on a blueberry foray she fills the bucket and I fill my stomach!

Geez Wajac I have past experiences the same picking Saskatoons but no bears but  skunks. Never got sprayed ....you ever got eaten? Glad to hear you comments about JBP ........keep picking  What does your wife do with her blueberries? We freeze a lot of ours for the winter. IKE

Ike, no skunks in NL, four legged ones that is! We freeze most of our blueberries so basically have a supply until the next season.  BTW  saskatoons do grow here, but they are not numerous. They are good and I will eat  my fill when I get the opportunity. They are called chuckley pears here because their shape somewhat resembles a pear.

Chuckly pears .......we are not amused. The Saskatoons near Saskatoon are big plump and round and think the soil there is most conducive to the taste. Only good ones with some flavor in BC I have found is near  100 mille house. Best berry picking day I ever had was blackberries near Fruitijar Chile....ate my face off. IKE

Stink if you look at page 28 of presentation  you can see the pocket pond a lot closer to  TCH then I remember...and still relatively close JBP fault...makes sense to take a gander there.Downhole ....what could they be looking for.? The only thing  I could find in your second last paragraph was Dead Wolf Pond and is 90 min by road to get to from Gander? From presentation Eastern ...more

ike, here's some Historical info on Pocket Pond RUBICON MINERALS CORPORATION;   During the summer of 2003, Rubicon located abundant quartz float over a 3 km trend between H Pond and Pocket Ponds, including a major, 800 m long, quartz boulder train exposed along H Pond Brook. One sample of quartz vein float from along the brook assayed 159 g/t Au, while 19 of 53 samples averaged ...more

Hey ike you have to zoom in more for the Caribou Lake name to show up on google satellite. So Caribou Lake is halfway between Dead Wolf Pond and Eastern Pond. But this is just the camp where the guys are staying. Most of the prospecting is taking place between the Southwest and Northwest rivers as you know near Eastern Pond north just west of Pauls Pond to adjacent to the Beaver Brook ...more

Megacopper my bro, Sorry only Cariboo Lake name I can get up is near Cornerbrook but was finally able to  get Eastern Pond and Dead Wolf Pond to pop up. Send me a pic if you ever get one up. All else I can get to pop up and there again is that Antimony mine. Your 2 cents are worth a lot more than mine. IKE

Great report meggacopper!  Yes, there is lots of activity. At the JBP Fault, as you state, the drill is moving steadily toward the TCH. I did not count the drill holes on my last trip  but there are there are many. NFG has mentioned the drilling at this zone a couple of times recently, so it will be interesting to see the first results come September.
