"Jewelry Boxes Defined"

Does anybody have any way of estimating what NFG has currently uncovered in ounces based on what has been drilled so far?. I've seen and understand length x width x depth x concentration, but these "veins" are varying concentrations, varying orientations, varying widths etc. It seems like the veins have only one thing in common and it is that they are entirely chaotic. I probably won't even be very convinced of the accuracy when the pros give it a value as it seems there will be a lot of guestimation. Can anyone just take a stab at the ounces in the Keats zone with just the findings so far? Any comparisons out there? I've tried to do some math on this, but eventually realize that it's entirely speculation. Thank in advance!

This was my attempt to rough out an estimate for gold in Keats based on the average gold/ton over the generalized zone compared to the weight/volume of quartz.  I ended up coming to the conclusion that there was about 800k oz of the really high grade stuff and 1-2M of the surrounding lower grade that was economically recoverable.   This was also about 3-4 months ago, so some dimensions ...more

Snidely,  Thank's for the calculations, really appreciate it. Pretty difficult to estimate, kinda like trying to figure out how many meatballs in a pot of spaghetti by repeatedly sticking your fork in the pot! I believe your figures are as good as any! TK

This was pretty early on in my looking into NFG and all I was hearing was resource estimates all over the place and every one was either like "This is going to the moon!" or "This is the most overvalued gold stock ever!"  So I put this together just to give myself a sense of what was there and what a reasonable value might be.  I came away from that thinking that ...more

As QH keeps saying, these are the branches. We need to locate the tree trunk. Very early days.

We did some rough back of the cigarette package calculations last spring using a specific gravity of 2.7 and an average grade of one ounce per ton because we had heard rumours there was 4 to 6 million ounces of gold at the Keats Zone. Rumours are just that rumours and of course we quickly realized that figure was out to lunch.   Anyways, myself and the Rock Doctor sat down ...more

So I'm glad that Snidely came up with a similar rough figure of about 2 million ounces at the Keats if you include the low grade and higher grade.  The old Rock Doctor still has some brain cells left up there in that head of his yet after 60 plus years of drinking. He says he started when he was 12 years old and never stopped. Lol. He must have a cast iron liver. Oh my. In an interview ...more

Last summer a gold geologist friend of mine fed all of the available data for the Keates zone into a professional software programme and came up with ~200,000 oz.  I will believe that figure long before I believe the "optimism" in this forum.  It is best to wait for the official NFG ore calculations.  NFG's current valuation is all about tomorrow, not what they have ...more

Thank you Snidely, Megacopper, and Retiredgeo for your responses. I like the first two more, but appreciate all of them. I was just hoping to get some idea of what we have in the bank so to speak and what is speculation even though everything points to a much larger find. I'll watch a game intently but have never been "cheerleader". Thank's again. TK

The Agnico Kirkland Lakes merger values KL at approx 11 billion. That is food for thought

Love this you guys and especially Snidely for sharing his calculation paper and Megacopper for sharing his calculations with the Rock Dr. I especially love that we cannot include anything below 200m and where the real juice may lie. This kind of things drives the beancounters crazy or at least roll their eyeballs out of their heads. The Fosterville mine just keeps coughing up more and we are ...more

NFg is in UNCHARTED waters and the area keeps getting bigger. NFG will just, drill baby drill and ignore the rhetoric.

Is it possible to just get mining a low cost mine without finding how much gold is there? Would we be able to get finiancing or a share offering to achieve this in a years time with  a capable management not afraid to go outside the norm? Maybe I am just crazy but do think this is an insane project like no other on the planet. If you can wrap your head around all that we have and what is ...more

Not as easy as you would think.  My understanding of Canadian mine permitting is that if the land package is all held in common that NFG would need to do a FS on the entire property, not just that single area that you are mining.  On top of that, all of your facilities (processing, tailing piles, etc.) would need to be consistent with your defined resource and mining plan.  That ...more
