NFG - Speculation or investment

Back in 2020-2021 NFG was a speculators dream but those days have come and gone.  In 2023 I do not recommend NFG/NFGC to any speculator.  As a play it is now too mature.  Good press releases barely budge the needle.  Daily volume is low.

I do recommend NFG as a 2023-2030 long term investment.  They have gold coming out the yin-yang along a major structural break analagous to the Cadillac break of the Abitibi.  Queensway is a new gold district in the making that will be pumping out the gold long after all of us are gone.  When will all of this be reflected in the share price? - hard to say but macro conditions will probably be the driver.  With millions of ozs of gold in the ground please note that NFG is going up and down with the price of gold.

Once upon a time this board was full of speculators, pumpers and shorters.  A few of the shorters are still hanging around.  Why is a mystery.  There isn't much downside left in the stock.  It has flat lined based on it's metal value in the ground.

There is no urgency to buy NFG. A capital raising will be necessary in a few months. May as well wait and see what that does to the SP and buy after that

The wild card is the price of gold.  Will it sky rocket to $3000/oz next week?  I can't predict such things.  If it happens NFG will go up with it.  If you are sitting on the sidelines you will miss it.

Unless China moves on Taiwan and the Middle East turns on Israel at the same time the POG isn't going anywhere. The world is at its most unstable as it has been for decades, most Western economies the worst they have been for decades and yet the suppression of the real POG continues

It's all about the US$ inflation still hotter than expected means another 1/4% rate increase is likely this makes the dollar more attractive and pressures gold in USA$ still gold is up 6% this year many things are down double digits so I would be so discouraged once the rate hikes stop or reverse the opposite will happen in USA$ many other currencies gold is much higher than just 6 %

Kind of a silly post. If gold hit $3,000 next week, literally every gold miner and explorer would shoot up, quality or not.

My point being - you don't want to be sitting on the sidelines when it happens and some big event will probably happen out of the blue.

And something will break at some point somewhere and having a little golden insurance isn't a bad thing it is the responsible thing so your point is well taken
