DEEP DOWN EXTENSION question for RetiredGeo

This is a question for RetiredGeo,  if he would be so kind. Dr. Quinton Hennigh on Crescat Capital (You Tube) "Activist on Gold & Silver #126" lays out a strong position that this very large minerlization foot print of NFG will likely extend down kilometers? below surface! He seems to be thoughly convinced of this. The NFG segment starts at 1:05:21 and ends 1:12:45. I tried researching orogenic gold systems, but the more I read, the more confused I became. Some orogenic gold systems can be down 15 to even 20 kms. What are your thoughts on the potential depth of NFGs system? Any comments will be appreciated.

No idea about Quinton Hennigh's evaluation of this project. I can say from experiece that his advice should be taken with a grain of salt. He talks a good game.

The Heidi's seismic survey currently underway says its testing provides good resolution down to 3000 metres. That's pretty deep. I dont  know how far down the Appleton Fault goes

There is a difference between the Quartz veins and the mineralized Quartz veins.  The Quartz veins probably extend 25-30 kms down.  Gold precipitation occurred in a narrow band perhaps a few kms thick.  Time, luck and happenstance have brought the erosion level down to the gold band.  How deep does the gold band still go?  No one knows.  We know only that it goes down ...more

Bottom line Sprott is betting it goes down further and extends horizontally. He has a huge chunk of change betting on this.......question is ....is he right?  Several others are betting on the upside of this, so am I for what that is worth. I do understand a fair amount about the geology, however not nearly as much as retiredgeo who is also positive. Who would you rather believe the ...more

Personally, I am more interested in the grade in the top 400 meters. Below that is underground mining only and requires much higher grades to be economic.

With the exception of Keats West no one is going to open pit these narrow vein deposits further than the excavator arm can reach.  There is just too much waste rock for open pit mining.  Most of what they are finding has to be exploited by underground means and yes they do have the widths and the grades for a very profitable underground mine(s) like Fosterville.
