17.9 years between Discovery and Gold Production in Canada

Summarized metrics

Based on 11 mines.

Approx 2 years longer than the global average .

Approx 4 years after decision to begin production..

With 5 years since discovery , if the Canadian lead time is followed here, production will begin around
2038.

Imagine the equity dilution and debt by that time , and the inflation destruction of your initial capital investment

Hands up those who intend to stay invested until 2038 .....assuming you will still be alive and not divorced

I am guessing that Nozzpacks figure includes the vast majority of discoveries that are more marginable in nature, and takes longer time frames to gather the interest and pull the ...more

Production in 2038? I think youre nose is packed with the good stuff. Dont they have a large section of overburden at Keats main already stripped and ready? They will mine that section and keep the company flush with cash sooner than later. In the mean time, continue to prove more reserves and add to the world class discovery.

The 17.9 year interval assumes: 1) the entire deposit(s) is drill defined up front; 2) a large, billion dollar mine is created; and 3) the local government is hostile to mine development.  It doesn't have to be that way.  They could start small scale mining of the KMZ next summer if they wanted to.  I hope that they do.

Yes of course those conditions apply for the 17.9 years . Early production would reduce that to 2 years or less excepting building the fully equipped mine. Thats why they have an exclusive MOU to use the Pine Cove mill which is now being reconfigured to meet expanded production and higher recoveries consistent with the recent QW Mett outcomes . Its not uncommon either to high grade early ...more
