Sidetracking targets being drilled were well defined

More than half dozen geophysical surveys of QWN had been undertaken over the past 6-7 years which, in combination with surficial sampling data , has enabled NFG to prepare a lithological and structural foundation for the Queensway Property which was combined with massive drill core data to 350 m or so , provided Seismics with excellent  prospect characterization needed to identify new target areas for the current ground truth sidetrack drilling by Devico.

The preliminary 3-D cube seismic interpretation outlined  structures and geological features to a depth of approximately 2.5 km . The structural geology thereby derived aligned quite well with known drill-defined gold-bearing structures closer to surface confirming the potential for additional lineaments that could represent new and untested structures.

Of course, as these 12 drills tested these preliminary multiple source targets enroute to their TD, the forecast geological devinings were continously replaced and updated by empirical drill core data.

As a consequence, multiple sourced target descriptors  guiding drilling became much more accurate as depths increased .

Its my opinion , based on these known facts, that the current 12 drill holes soon to be side tracked to test auriferous zones defined by drill cores and Seismics , will have excellent success.

Based on typical orogenic gifts of broader high grade zones with increasing depths, those sidetrack tests by Devico have an excellent prognosis ..

Whilst the directional core drilling benefits for deep holes are self-evident, perhaps they could also be applied to the existing sub 400m holes drilled.   In this way, the production of a NFG 43-101 could increase the density of drill cores in the target open pit location and therefore the reliability of the 43-101.

That is a very sinsightful comment. Sidetracking to extend the shallow auriferous structures infield or those structures that had high prospectivity but not drilled could reduce infill drilling costs and in step outs, increase total shallow gold resources. However, the primary current objective is to get some form of production under way at the high grade KeatsTrench. The next two weeks could ...more
