Extremely Weak US GDP in Q1 2024…1.4%

Actually it's worse than that.
US GDP includes Govt Spending .

That has increased by 8% so far in 2024 ( https://fiscaldata.treasury.gov/americas-finance-guide/federal-spending/ )

In other words, the US economy is being propped up by Govt spending .

Even worse, this is being done by large deficits .....debt...which is running at $1 trillion every 100 days.

This of course cannot be sustained, as debt interest payments begin to cut into and reduce net Govt spending.

Someone has placed a large bet that the FED will cut interest rates by 300 basic points by early 2025.

I like the odds..
