RE:Question re: Fuel Expense

RE:Question re: Fuel Expense      Hi Scorpio2, the equipment is all diesel powered, the short hauls will result in very little fuel usage by the trucks, the diggers will be the main fuel users, as they will be running at high idle all day. If I think of it, I will ask Richard how much fuel they chew in a day.

I worked for Leightons for a while, we ran five diggers, three 500 ton and two 270-ton machines. Along with fifty something 250-ton trucks, and support gear, graders, dozers etc and we would burn around 100K litres in a twelve-hour shift, now that is burning fuel.

At a our gear is much smaller, at a guess, 50 litres per truck and maybe 300 litres per digger. Absolute educated guess but will try and find out.
