Wind Turbine Size
Vestas will deploy 15MW turbines this year. Testing of 18MW turbines is right around the corner.
When Hecate windfarm was first proposed 15 years ago, turbine size was only 3.5 MW. From about 114 turbines back then, to maybe 22 today.
Only time before 20/20. 20MW and 20 turbines required for a 400MW windfarm.
The generating efficiences which come with larger turbine has advanced also.
