Offshore wind is the most feasible option for renewable energy production in Alaska’s OCS in the next 10–20 years.

Only a small fraction of offshore wind sites can be practically developed for Alaska. In 2012 the idea of supplying Alaska with BC Hydro power via overland transmission line, was talked about. .....the transmission line you talked about from the northwest, I believe that’s so we can tie Alaska to the main power grid? Reading the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management report for Alaska, the same process will have to be done by BC Hydro. Not not only for northen marine areas, but further south along the coast where a lot of wind/wave energy exists. Practicability of development encompasses the affordability of electricity produced.
