From what I read, if Democrates win the George senate, it may not be good for the general market since the democrats will increase tax.

Just curious how everyone feels about the consequences of this election and how it may relate to our gem here.
Thx All.
This is definetely will have consequences, but I would not exaggerate the significance either. Yes controlling Congress and de-facto have Senate (both Senate independents are liberals) will give Democrats nearly cart blanche to implement their main promise, greening economy and as tiger mentioned increasing the taxes.
Although taxes perceived damaging, there is such thing as inadeqate taxation. In Canada we do not have this concept at all and therefore increase taxes is normally bad for us. Americans pay much less taxes, but have giant and damaging for their (and our) future budget deficit. The minimizing this risk can slow down economy (depending scale of increase), but will reduce risk and it can have calming effect.
NLC will be net winner. It is part of green economy and promised 500,000 new EV charging station (financed with new taxes) will only encourage buying them - all research pointing to it.
Second, Democrats believe in science and know that global warming is not a NASA's conspiracy, but human made crisis. Thus, regulations will be greener, expect Paris accord to be signed and anti-ICE measures taken.
Finally, Democrats will take COVID more seriously. Faster exit will help economic recovery and Democrats will be responcible for post-COVID rearangement of economy.
Without obstructionism it will be all much easier and new world order will still need transportation. Unless major surprises (war, depresssion, or completely new tech), world will need a lot of Lithium. I think this was one of the reason for the rallies, prices are going up, but so far very slow. Expectations - that is what changing fast.
