RE: Kierens Creek Yeah theres a story behind that creek though. Fact is its a gov't created slough, they put the bridge across the creek, which was really not very much at all till it got flowing in the spring. Anyway they built the bridge, threw a culvert under it and guess what? The culvert's too small, first run off the creek overflows its banks and in that ground it created an instant marsh.
Would'nt be hard to put forth a successful argument to return it as it was before gov't meddling - not an argument thats necessary to make right now.
The s:r is high, 9:1 actually. But thats the only problem with the deposit and there are some things to consider. Analysts figure we're losing over 30% of the grade in the pit area. If thats the case the grade is well over 2 g/t. Higher then comparable deposits.
The thing with the s:r is the deposit sits like a saucer, you need to get the waste out before you hit the ore. After that its all gravy, so think of it as all the waste is removed before mining, after mining start theres no, or very little, waste to move.
As for underground being lower grade who says so? I don't see that at all, I do see Aurizon being very very conservative.
You don't find a mine, you find a deposit and build your mine out of it. Early days yet, yes theres challenges but so far, it all seems doable.
