RE:I went to the CHFA West trade show, Sunday at 2 PM ... Hey “AnalogueMan”,
Good one! That’s a tough ticket to get if you are not in the food industry. I think it would have been great to have even an hour or so to check out some of the exhibitors so I appreciate you sharing your experience.
IMO the timing of the
start up of operations of the packaging equipment on March 14th and the
CHFA West couldn’t have worked out any better. The opportunity for NSP to develop new contacts at the CHFA for co-packing business and ingredient sales was terrific.
The March 14
th News Release quotes Dave Eto stating “
Interest from other co-packing clients continues to grow and now we are introducing them to our facility. Sample runs of product and co-packing agreements are being discussed. This is also an opportunity to introduce our co-packing partners to other parts of our business, like HempOmega™and food ingredients.” Scrolling through
the list of exhibitors there appears to be a lot of companies on the list that fit Dave Eto’s comments/descriptions from the March 14
th news release: “
Co-packaging facilities like ours are rare in western Canada. We have tailored our co-packing services to be beneficial to companies ready to transition from hand-fill operations to a more automated process. These businesses may not currently have the volumes or capital to develop their own packaging operations, and are looking to grow. By offering our services at this level, we provide processing capability to local processors ready for the next stage of their business.”
Onward and Upwards? Yup, gotta agree with that one!
So do you think it was an accident or planned that we recently seen all the sample containers of branded
NATERA® Ingredients. Lots of variey - HempOmega, Moringa Leaf Powder, Organic Spinach Powder, Hemp Protein 50%, Pumpkin Protein Powder, Ginsing Powder & Extract, Cranberry Powder, Fenugreek Powder, Raspberry Powder, Hemp Flour 33%, Organic Beet Powder..........
Well done guys!

At 2 PM on closing day the show was still crowded. NSP had a booth in the middle, towards one side of the event. Looked to me all Natera products were displayed - including Protien 369 that was formulated for Laguna. There were two dynamic, knowledgable, young women manning the booth. Sample packages were avaialble. All very impresssive.
I wasn't aware that the CHFA is a trade show - not open to the public. The &%$# fellow at Registration would not let me in. Wot The ... I just paid $15 for parking. I called the Pitt Meadows office, pressed 5 (I think) to be forewarded to Brent (PR), at home who called Craig, at the show, who had a fellow come out and smuggle me in with his ID hangng around my neck.
When I arrived at the booth Craigs was just leaving in conversation with another fellow.
Having returned the ID I felt conspiculous. Stayed just long enough to get a general impression. The impression was good. Same as my impression of their Pitt Meadows facitity ...
Onwards and Upwards ? Thinking so ...
