HPHT WELLS - WORLDWIDE Take a look at the presentation from Total dated February 2012 entitled (https://aftp.ecritel.net/_upload/ressources/textes_conferences/technologie_forage_puits_hpht_080212.pdf). Take a look at slide 6 of this presentation - which gives you a good overview of the majority of HPHT wells around the world that have been drilled and where they rank in terms of temperatures and pressures.
It certainly would be interesting to see where Jaguar-1 plots against these wells. Certainly, it would not even come close to what junior explorer McMoran is drilling in the GoM shelf: Davy Jones, Blackbeard, Lafite - all being drilled below 30,000 ft below the mudline.
I would suspect Jaguar would probably fall below the 'ultra' classification. It will be interesting to see when more information is released.
First things first - Repsol and partners are going to need an extension on the Georgetown Block - which will expire in November 2012. Not to just re-drill Jaguar-1, but to allow the partners - who are taking a very significant risk - the opportunity to follow up with their other prospective inventory they have worked hard on to identify.
I certainly would be surprised if Guyana does not move ahead granting some type of extension on the Georgetown Block to Respol and partners.
