OCT-07-2014 CAIRN ANNOUNCES MAJOR DISCOVERY OFFSHORE SENEGAL
Very interesting development offshore Senegal - Cairn has announced a material discovery (prospect size is around 900mmboe). The prospect discovery was targeting cretacous stratigraphic trap - similar to Jubilee.
It would seem the discovery offshore Senegal would bode will for CGX shareholders - as Senegal is pretty close to being the Guyana / Suriname basin conjugate.
Cairn will immediately proceeding drilling their second prospect - which is a different play type targeting carbonates - similar to Inpex's Aitkanti-1 well.
