What does the government do... they allow CGX to kill literal years and more shockingly allow it to turn into a massive joke of a project. Boat docks in central Alberta look more promising than the shi* they have built. Brazil probably wonders infernally "what the fuc* are we going to be able to export in any meaningful amount with that piece of garbage". So much money is still needed there... and brains.
The government talks a good game (recent offshore bid round), then goes and gives land to a new Guyana startup run by a bunch of women. It's comical and pathetic. No doubt executives across the oil industry view the government as a bunch of fools. Least on a plus the government likes oil. Something that can't be said in many other areas globally.
