This will accelerate as Rogers and Telus role out their LTE networks in their new 700MHz spectrum, but that should take a few years to show up significantly. Rogers has already started the rollout in Calgary and calls it LTE Max. 700MHz is licensed spectrum, can be gigabit fast and requires way fewer towers, so it is quite well suited to rural areas. PCS does not have access to similar technology.
