Helium One in TanzaniaSome of you may remember John Magufuli, the outspoken President of Tanzaia, the covid denier who died of covid. He made it difficult for foreign resource companies to operate, confiscating foreign assets, levying big fines and judgements (includine one against Canadian Company Barrick Mining), bringing charges of corruption without badis, essentially shutting down operations of foreign resource development. Since he died a new President has been elected who is pro-business and things are better. But let's just say there were lots of reasons that businesses and individuals who were operating in Tanzania made adjustments to the situation. Minnesota can be a difficukt spot for resouce development, but is still infinitely better than Tanzania of 2019 and 2020. Plus the location in terms of contributing to a North American supply chain for helium is just perfect. NA and particularly US is biggest user of helium in the world.
