Country-Specific Information:

• The Dominican Republic has 17,752 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 515 confirmed deaths.
• The President of the Dominican Republic extended the State of Emergency for an additional 12 days.  The curfew will remain in place through June 13th.  The curfew hours remain Monday through Saturday 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Sunday 5 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Masks are required in all public spaces in the Dominican Republic.
•  The Embassy has advised staff that the facility we use for emergency and specialized care has reached its full capacity.  As the outbreak proceeds, access to medical care and specialized equipment will be increasingly difficult to obtain, and hospitalized patients will have an increased risk of exposure to COVID-19.
• Ferry flights continue to be available through Jetblue and United Airlines. Contact the airlines directly to make a reservation.

You see the part about the Embassy HAS advised staff. They have reached full capacity in emergency and specialized care, so they are not in my view going too open up anytime soon.

Could be wrong, but it does not look good for the opening up as of yet!

all the better for PREIF..better to be safe and have healthy crews for exploration and mining than not...I am sure PREIF also has more time to plan its next moves...only ten days away from getting the DR back to work....
