RE: RE: Religion and politics and all implodes.I write this only because there is not much talk going on about Opel and it is mostly intended for oogee.
oogee, I like your post. Not only does it give me "food for thought' but it tells me a lot about the person you are. Myself, having just retired and losing my wife to cancer just a few months ago, have lots of time to think about such matters. "After all, the world we see is our own minds creation" really caught my interest. Indeed you are right the world itself is basically make up of mostly nothing , empty space as it were. If the earth were caught in the vortex of a black hole it would shrink to the size of a baseball.
Point being is that we think that if we cannot feel, touch, smell, taste or see something, it is not real or possible. Yet ,our mind, our soul, our thought cannot be felt, or touched, or smelt ,or tasted or seen.
It doesn't mean it's not there. We know it is. We don't believe in ghost, we do believe in ghost. We don't believe in the supernatural, we do believe in the supernatural. we don't believe in God, we do believe in God. Depends on who you are. Because we can't prove God is there doesn't mean he is not there because we can't prove that he is not there either. There may be a god. There may be many gods but probably nowhere what we conceive him or them to be. Indeed ,we may all be gods ourselves.
Who knows. That being said if we all believed in God and that produced a world where we all cared and looked after each other and followed the "golden rule", then I'm all for it because it makes us happy and contented. Far better then unhappy and dissatisfied I think.... Okay, I promise that will be my last post on anything but Opel ...Sorry for the rant.
